Burkina Faso fetched over US$1 billion from the sale of cotton last year. According to Reuters, the country’s output for the year was 630,000 tonnes; at prevailing prices this translates to US$1.2 billion.
Attendees from around the globe are set to converge at the Durban International Convention Center in Durban, South Africa for the World Soybean Research Conference IX, which will take place February 17-22, 2013.
